Profile
Raechel holds a Master of Music (Cello Performance) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she studied under renowned Australian cellist Julian Smiles. She furthered her training at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music under internationally acclaimed cellist Norman Fischer, studied with Molly Kadarauch at the Melbourne Conservatorium, and completed her Bachelor of Music under Dr. Meta Weiss at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University.
Raechel brings extensive professional orchestral experience to her teaching. She has performed with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, and has held principal cello positions with the Australian Youth Orchestra, Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra, and the Shepherd School Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist, she was a finalist in the Australian Concerto Competition, performing Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1 with the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra.
Raechel tailors her lessons to each student’s unique goals and stage of development. She has extensive experience preparing students for:
